Whilst the CNG / LNG Market has been active in the UK for many years, it has only recently become a viable option for long range haulage with the first independent gas filling stations opening across the UK. As far as the driver is concerned, both the vehicle and the fuelling experience is as straightforward as using diesel.

Dispensing Gaseous products is not straightforward as pressure and temperature have to be taken in to account to give a true measure of fuel delivered. Jigsaw work with a range of specialist companies supplying gas compression equipment and gas dispensers. The Jigsaw system is MID approved for resale so giving your users confidence that the fuelling process is accurate and dependable.

The CNG/LNG dispensers are controlled by and Eclipse fuel island so that fuel may only be drawn on presentation of a valid vehicle ID tag and Driver ID.

CNG / LNG :

The fleet to be fuelled is fed in to, and managed on the web site, setting the acceptable fuel types and the maximum delivery. The vehicle can be assigned to a user group such as an individual company so that billing information may be easily generated. If required, the fuelling transactions may be forwarded to a secondary package such as Sage or SAP.

Details of each fuelling transaction - date and time, vehicle, driver and fuel quantity are viewable in real time through the web site and may be included in user reports.

Any reports which need to be generated daily, weekly or monthly can be configured as required and automatically generated and distributed.

• The real time site view shows activity on the fuelling site as it occurs. Any problems with dispensers are immediately obvious.
• The system will generate monthly reports and distribute them automatically leaving the user free to concentrate on managing issues raised rather than moving paper.
• The system automatically generates real time fuelling information highlighting vehicles and people using excessive amounts of fuel. The web service lets you quickly delve in to the data behind these issues.
• By using the groups feature, it is simple to set up customer transaction reports to generate invoicing information.
• Multiple sites can be managed easily so that vehicles can fuel anywhere in the network and still have a single consolidated billing report.

Useful System Features :

• If Drivers cant be relied on to type in accurate mileages, then hardware may be fitted to the vehicles which will automatically gather and pass the mileage from the vehicle to the fuel island. Jigsaw Midas, FuelGuard and EasyFuel all have this option. Alternatively, if the vehicle is fitted with a tracking system, then some of these pass the vehicles mileage back to the telematics server. Jigsaw have interfaces to several telematics servers to recover this mileage automatically.
• Identifying the driver who fuelled the vehicle will enable the system to give you the tools to manage driver efficiency and misuse of company fuel. This can be achieved by issuing the drivers with personal ID tags.
• Many times a “Yard Key” is issued which is used to fuel visiting vehicles, contract hire vehicles and just about anything else - legitimate or otherwise. Plan for these eventualities by holding spare keys on site that can be issued and recovered as necessary. Alternatively the yard key can be replaced by a fueller tag or master tag where a valid registration number needs entering.
• It is common that a site is supplied from a trailer loaded with high pressure gas canisters. These are filled at another site where the gas is compressed. Make allowance for the control and monitoring of the gas filling point for these mobile stations.

Green Fuels

An LPG dispenser is a little more straightforward than a CNG Dispenser and a range of LPG dispensers are available for interface with the Jigsaw Eclipse system.

LPG :

For each of the above fuel types, a jigsaw Eclipse Terminal with an RFID tag reader would be fitted adjacent tot he pump. The terminal only allows fuel to be drawn by users with a valid ID Tag. The pump interface would be chosen to suit the pump type being controlled - either a mechanical, pulsed interface or a serial protocol controller.

Fuel Island Hardware :

Bio Diesel may be dispensed by the same equipment used to deliver ordinary fossil fuel based diesel.
